Our Green Earth Products – My First Blog

Hi, my name is Lori and this is my www.OurGreenEarthProducts.com blog. 

This blog will address important environmental issues and how we can work together to be earth-friendly and responsible about taking care of our world. 

You see, I am a mom.  I believe it is extremely important to teach our children how to care of the world in which they live and pass on that knowledge to future generations.

I gaze in awe around our environment and observe extraordinary advancements in science and technology.  People’s lives have been made easier through modern technology and more convenient through the use of consumable products. 

The problem is the impact that our ‘conveniences’ have on the environment. 

We drive over-sized vehicles and produce far too much waste on a daily basis.  We consume as much as we can and toss everything in the trash.  

It is time to question where our stuff goes and whether it will someday decompose and return to the earth. 

Most of us have never visited a landfill or have witnessed the tragic effects of pollution in the ocean, so sometimes it is easy to dismiss all the environmental issues being presented today as “hype”. 

Many people are concerned, but do not think environmental issues should affect their lifestyle.   Perhaps they realize there is a problem, but feel helpless in taking action to protect their environment.

We only have one EARTH.  It is our job to take care of it and the time is now.

Goals and purpose of this blog

My goal and purpose with this blog is to discuss ways each of us can help make a difference in our local communities. 

It can be as simple as buying re-usable shopping bags for your future trips to the grocery store.  Maybe you will decide to buy your fruit and vegetables at the local farmer’s market rather than the grocery store.  Or decide to find a recycle bin for that disposable water bottle instead of the trash can at the local ball park.

Whatever it is, it makes a difference.  Every little bit helps. 

We certainly can do better and I for one am willing to try.  The more we get this message out, the more our children will understand how important it is to conserve and protect our natural resources. 

When your kids witness you making an effort to be more responsible about the environment, they will challenge themselves to follow your lead and ‘think green’.  Our leadership will inspire and encourage our children, their children and generations that follow to become citizens that make a difference in our world.
